Mission

M1: To equip our graduates with the knowledge and expertise with extra emphasis on technical and soft skills, having cross cultural adaptability, to contribute significantly to the industry and society as a whole.

M2: To provide a platform where both faculty and students engage in scholarly research activities and also nurture their entrepreneurial and interpersonal skills.

Aim

The aim of mechanical department to give graduates the necessary skills but also to shape the thinking and team-working spirit to ensure the best prospects for successful careers and / or further study within the heavy demands of modern times.


Scope

To acquire the knowledge, Department develops suitable theoretical background studies with state of art laboratory and hand on skills training, and department infrastructure for applied technology research. By obtaining theoretical and applied scientific training, our graduates are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the particularly demanding market in the best possible way.


Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

1. To provide excellent education in Mechanical Engineering to have all round development & expansion of students’ knowledge in order to serve the global society.
2. To facilitate the students with strong fundamentals and methods of simulation to work in design & analysis, fabrication & maintenance of mechanical systems.
3. To provide opportunity to the students to expand their prospect beyond Mechanical Engineering and create novel products and solutions for the real life problems.
4. To build a flexible and robust ambience that promotes originality and innovation among students & faculty, which encourage professional ethics and lifelong learning.
5. To make the students attentive about the importance of multidisciplinary engineering approach, ethical attitude, team work and ability to relate engineering issues to the broader societal context.
6. To introduce the students to the professionalism with effective soft skills and decision making ability.

I feel proud to introduce you to Department of Mechanical Engineering at Krishna Engineering College. Our Department provides a quality learning environment, in terms of academic standards and practical knowledge. The department has good infrastructure and is equipped with state of the art laboratories. The department has faculty members who have vast experience in their field. The faculty has succeeded in keeping a lively atmosphere among the students, with timely up gradations in the curriculum and innovative teaching techniques. Emphasis is also laid on making student innovative and acquires requisite skills to be successful entrepreneurs. Our goal is to provide students with a balance of intellectual and practical experiences that enable them to serve a variety of societal needs. We are highly ambitious, hopeful and optimistic about the future placement scenario of our students. Many of our Alumni are well-placed in reputed organizations. Pursuing cutting-edge and impactful research and development is also an essential feature of the department’s focus to search for realistic solutions. With our distinct student centered teaching-learning methodology, our students will be able to face challenges of life.     INTERNATIONAL ELECTRIC-SOLAR VEHICLE CHAMPIONSHIP 2013- 2014 ” Was  Organised by  Robotics and Intelligent System Community  and Lovely Professional University(RISC–LPU)  to design and fabricate a single seated vehicle which is operated by DC motor; Where power source was  battery as well as Solar Panel. Two teams participated, Namely “SHAURYE” (Total 20 Members) and “The Stalwarts”(Total 22 Members). Out of total 102 Teams registered , only 87 competed for Virtual Round. 36 teams made it in Final Dynamics round held at LPU Jalandhar.

To earn the Center of Excellence Certification, our Department met objective and quantitative criteria and also demonstrated training, resources, service level standards and process management. This achievement confirms Mechanical Engineering Department’s ability to deliver service that is both efficient and effective. This certification validates department’s commitment to deliver extreme satisfaction to students for practical knowledge of automation. Much work and dedication has been spent creating the best possible experience for students.





Summer School


The summer and Winter Schools at department level are opportunities for students to gain valuable learning experience that goes far beyond the structured classrooms. Through these the students can explore emerging areas, test new ideas and methods, experience and understand critical situations. The courses are for short durations of between two to four weeks. Faculty members help students understand the nature and orientation of the courses. Special schools are unique opportunities to expand horizons of learning, interact with a large group of enthusiastic and talented students





Winter School




Skill Development




The idea behind skill development program is to raise confidence of students and to give them direction through proper skills. Development of skills is very essential to channelize them for proper job opportunities. Students are provided training, support and guidance in all the practical fields of mechanical engineering. It includes group discussions, brainstorming sessions, practical experiences, case studies etc.



Software Available

(CATIA)


To prepare the students to enter the professional world with all of the skills and knowledge, it is essential that engineering students learn to use the software programs to take full advantage of available software tools. Hands on training are provided to students in drafting software.

CATIA is computer aided three-dimensional interactive application and multi platform software suite for Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE).
